First few days...

I have really done too much already to fully explain all the details and give the experiences justice, but I will try to give you a taste.

Arrival day was kind of a bust. I didn't sleep at all on the plane, and every showed up utterly exhausted. The hotel rooms weren't ready when we got there, so we walked around a little, but wound up just lounging about the hotel lobby as a large, smelly exhausted groups. Once the rooms were available I passed out, and my roommate Jake and I wound up sleeping through the first 20 minutes of our first meeting... whoops. We had slept through one alarm, and one was set 15 minutes late (though it was the only reason we got up at all!). That night we went out to a couple different pubs, just testing the waters, and were in bed by ten.

The next day started with meetings, but the second half we got to take a tour of "The City," which is the square mile in the middle of London that is the equivalent of Wall Street. That night I walked with a couple of girls that are on the York program over to see the London "eye" (sp?), and the Parliament building with Big Ben. Really cool, really ornate building... but I forgot my camera!

Day three was more meetings and some errand running (i.e. to get my cell phone... another long story). That night I had my first meat pie at a pub, then we went to see the musical Billy Elliot.

Finally, today my Royal Holloway group and I navigate two taxis and a train to make it onto campus and move into our dorms. They are amazing! I live in a single off of a shared hallway, with a shared kitchen at the end. The room has more than ample space for one, and I have my own bathroom! The building is also new in 2007, so everything is very neat.

Unfortunately my room is all I have pictures from right now, but hopefully more to come!

Oh, and I forgot to mention... I also snagged a pic of the Palestinian march in London that we could see from our hotel window!
